BERLIN FAMILY LECTURES

Client: Division of the Humanities

Design: Joel Matos

2018 –

The Randy L. and Melvin R. Berlin Family Lectures bring to campus individuals who are making fundamental contributions to the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences. The original logo and printed materials for the lecture incorporated a static triangular motif using the UChicago color palette. There was a desire to update the overall look and feel of the promotional materials while maintaining the core triangular elements that had been used before to make the event recognizeable. A shift was made in the color scheme to incorporate brighter colors to create more vibrant materials. Triangular shapes were retained but used in a more dynamic way to give a sense of motion and variation between all of the materials, resulting in a more organic and evolving brand.
