HUMANITIES DAY
Client: Division of the Humanities
Design: Joel Matos
2016

Humanities Day is an annual event featuring lectures, exhibits, and tours to share the exciting work being done in the division with our alumni, friends, and neighbors. Scholars from virtually every department in the Division present work from their areas of. Inspiration for the design of Humanities Day comes from the event itself and the broad scope of the events taking place. Visual elements taken from these various subjects—Renaissance art, music, Venice Carnivals, traditional Chinese dancing, Afrofuturism (to name a few)—are combined in a collage format with splashes of bold colors and forms to create artwork that contains classical imagery with a modern, colorful twist.
